| Susan Kuner, Ed.D. is a professor at Vanderbilt University and director of Vanderbilt's Virtual School, an Internet educational project. She has been a student of the Sufi teacher, Pir Vilayat Khan for over 25 years. Dr. Kuner is a senior meditation teacher in the Sufi Order International and an ordained minister in the Universal Worship. Dr. Kuner had several other "back to the land" experiences before going off the grid in 1999. In the late 1960's she and her husband Vakil grew organic popcorn on a 200 acre farm in Towanda, Pennsylvania. From 1975-1978, Susan and Vakil were founding members of "The Abode of the Message," a spiritual commune in New Lebanon, New York on the site of the Mt. Lebanon Shaker community. In 1977, their daughter Satya was born in the old Shaker chair factory. | ||||
